The Time Travel Research Center is a real scientific endeavor that was created by Dr. David Anderson.
The research center was located on Long Island in the late 1990's and had a real staff, but most of the key research was compartmentalized to various contractors in order to secure the proprietary knowledge. Further explanations are given on the website with regard to the most general theories of how time travel could be accomplished.
According to my latest knowledge, the research center was able to slow time down and speed it up within a contained field about the size of a basketball. At that point, I had met with Dr. Anderson before he was to make a mysterious trip to Moscow in November of 2001. At that meeting, we spoke about doing major public physics events on time travel but also discussed some of the difficulties in his research.
At that time, he was having problems with proper instrumentation as he was not a specialist in that field. Pointing out that Preston Nichols is one of the world's foremost specialists in instrumentation of this nature, we were planning on getting the two of them together on that point.
As you can read in the Winter 2002 edition of the Montauk Pulse (click here), which can be found on this website, there is an explanation surrounding what happened to David Anderson. By all sights and appearances, pressure was placed upon David to take him "out of the game" in regards to public advocation of time travel.
Before he disappeared from public sight, he bequeathed the Time Travel Research Center archives, logo, and website to me in hopes that his dream for time travel would continue. The amount of technical information that he left with me was minimal as most of that is proprietary to him and is in his head.
Before he was forced to exit public life, he did let me know that it would be three to five years before he could surface again. We hope his estimate is accurate or that he can come back sooner. I am planning to meet his colleagues in Romania during the summer of 2004.
We have tried to delete all inapplicable or stale dated references from the website. What is left is to serve a memory and tribute to David Anderson. We expect that there will be more developments on this story in the future, and we are proud to include him in the Sky Books family.
